When Two Worlds Bloom: a Multicultural Celebration at the Swan House & St. Regis Atlanta

Some weddings tell one story. This one told several — and the flowers changed with every chapter.

I was very privileged to be part of an amazing floral team put together by Flower Girl Designs- specialist in multicultural weddings. Over a fall weekend in Atlanta, a Hindu and Western celebration unfolded across two stunning venues, guided by one of the most intentional color stories I’ve ever been part of. It was a living ombré — rich, jewel-toned drama at the start, softening through blush and rose and white, until it dissolved into something pure and ethereal by evening’s end.

A Color Story That Shifted Like Light

Friday’s masquerade welcome at the Atlanta History Center’s Swan House opened in deep reds, purples, and gold — opulent, theatrical, and alive. By Saturday, the Hindu ceremony at the Swan House arrived in reds, warm pinks, and rose tones softened by lush green and white. For my part, I created carnation garlands draped in the traditional manner for the ceremony — their gentle fragrance carrying something ancient and unhurried into the room.

For the Western ceremony that followed, the reds were gone in favor of a blush, white, and trailing green palette before the color story took its final turn: cocktail hour arrived in crisp white and green only. I created small arrangements for this hour — a quieter breath before the grand finale.

The Reception: An Enchanted Greenhouse

The St. Regis reception was designed to feel like stepping inside an enchanted greenhouse. Trees seemed to grow from the tabletops. Trailing greenery cascaded from the ceiling and table ends as if the room had always been wild. White roses, stock, and ranunculus anchored it all with elegance.

I worked on the wild ceiling treatment, cascading table ends, and white and green reception pieces — large arrangements throughout the hotel, and a row of arrangements framing the raised family seating area. Organic, abundant, and unhurried. As if the flowers had simply just grown and bloomed there.
